CREATE A CHANNEL IN SLACK FOR YOUR PHONE CALLS

Firstly, I'd recommend you to create a Slack channel dedicated to your phone calls only. This way you have a better overview on what's going on in your Slack team and can easily manage your calls.



SET YOUR NOTIFICATION PREFERENCES

You should also have a look at your notification preferences for your phone channel. Click on the 'settings' symbol at the top of your channel and then on 'Notification preferences...'.



On this screen you can decide when and where you get notified about the channel's activities. You can either get notified about all new messages or just mentions. We mention your name when a new call comes in but if you want to get updated on all the activities in the phone channel, it is best to select "all new messages".



 



You can also go to 'Account Preferences' at the bottom of the options bar to have a more detailed overview about your notification settings. This is important to anyone who uses their phone for Yodel calls! When the 'Account Preferences'-bar opens, go to 'When I'm not active on desktop' and enable the option 'Send notifications to my mobile device as soon as I'm inactive'.
