--- Zapier is a 3rd party tool that can be used in combination with Yodel. If you don't have a Zapier account, you can create one here. ---

First, go to https://manage.yodel.io/integrations and click on the “+” sign right next to Zapier:

Yodel Business Phone System Zapier Integration

As soon as Zapier is added as an installed integration, click on “View” next to Zapier to show the token:

Yodel — Zapier token

You need to use this token later to connect Yodel and Zapier.

Then, go to your Zapier account https://zapier.com/app/explore and click on “make a zap”. Search for “Yodel” in the Trigger App list and click on “Create this Zap”

Create a Yodel Zap

My First Zap with Yodel

Select one of the provided options as your trigger (in this description, we picked “Call incoming”).

Select a trigger — Yodel

Then, you need to give Zapier access to the Yodel account. You do so by copy pasting the token from before.

As soon as you’ve entered the token, you select your Yodel Account. You can also firstly click on “test” to be sure that the connection is working properly. Then, you click on “Save + Continue” to start the setup.

Select Yodel Account

In the next step, you select which phone number in your Yodel account should be used for the Zap.

We suggest that you make the test provided by Zapier to check the Yodel number.

As soon as the test was successful, you can go to “Continue” to start the connection between the Yodel number and your other tool.

Test Successful!

Your screen should look similar to this example. If so, you’re ready to click on the “+” sign to start the next zap!

Yodel — Zapier Trigger

Again, you need to choose an Action App with which Yodel should work. The possibilities are basically endless. So you can really try different things and see how they work.

We’ve included 2 examples to show what workflows can be created.

Choose an Action App for Yodel

In our first example, we connected Yodel to Zapier’s SMS feature as we want to get notified via our mobile phones if someone calls the business line.

In our example, we included the Call URL (which opens the browser and you can answer the call directly from the SMS), the Caller and the Line they are calling.

Set up SMS

As soon as someone calls the your Yodel business line, Zapier sends an SMS to your mobile phone with the information you added in the Zap.

In this case, we also included the call URL so by clicking on it the browser opens and you can answer the call right away.

SMS from Yodel — Zapier Integration

In the next example, we connected Yodel to a CRM system.

This is helpful for teams that work together with a number of customers and want to have the account information available as soon as one of those customers calls:

In this case, we chose the action “find contact” so Zapier would look up the contact in the Hubspot database.

Yodel — HubSpot Zapier Integration

You can run a test to make sure that the connection works. Let the system look for a specific person to see if your input matches what Zapier found in Hubspot.

Search for HubSpot CRM Contact

After finishing the test, you can match the information that Yodel displays in Slack when the customer calls:

Test Hubspot CRM

Make sure to match the right fields to the required information.

Set up Yodel Contact

After you’ve turned on the Zap, you are ready to test this workflow:

Test Your Zap with Yodel — Hubspot Integration

Working Zap Screenshot

When the Zap is successfully created, you will see the URL to the Hubspot profile when the customer calls in.

URL to HubSpot Customer Profile

Instead of the phone number, Yodel displays the saved name in Hubspot that correlates with the phone number. Additionally, the link to the customer’s information in Hubspot is also shown. So you can quickly get the necessary information about this customer.

If you want to start with a simple Zap, go to manage.yodel.io/integrations and select from one of our templates. The templates guide you through each step.
